Frequently Asked Questions

Whatever you call it (escape room/exit room/mystery room/quest), it’s a unique and fun way to spend time with family, friends, or coworkers. In a nutshell, a puzzle room is a timed group activity in which you enter a room that is filled with clues, puzzles, and activities that guide you to the main goal—completing the mission and getting out of the room.

As soon as your group is briefed, you’ll enter the room and the Gamemaster will start the clock. You’ll have 60 minutes to find all the clues, solve the puzzles, and complete the mission of the room.

Complexity is a family-friendly game, though children under 10 may find the puzzles and strategy a little complex. Teens 17 and younger must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Players younger than 15 must have at least one parent or guardian present in the room while they play.

$30 per person for the 90-minute experience.

Yes. When you book a time online, you are reserving the room for you and your group. Your friends can arrive with you and pay at the front desk. Up to 8 people can play in a room at one time.

Complexity is open Saturday and Sunday, and in the evenings on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Times for the puzzle rooms vary each day, and you can check availability on our booking page. Click Here To Book. We can also accommodate special events Click To View Events.

Your entire group should arrive at your scheduled game time. We have included enough time for you to get settled, use the facilities, and be introduced to and briefed by your Gamemaster for what to expect.

Within the booking time, you’ll have 60 minutes to complete the puzzle room plus up to 15 minutes before for rules and briefing and up to 15 minutes after for questions.

No. While the mission may require you to exit through a locked door, there will always be a way back to the lobby (or the bathroom). We will explain everything during the game briefing before you play.

Don’t worry! You will always have an emergency way out if you are uncomfortable and need to leave the room for any reason. We will explain everything during the game briefing before you play.

Yes. And you will have plenty of opportunity before the game begins to use the facilities. If you need to use them during play you may leave the room (but we will not be able to stop the 60-minute time clock).

There are no horror elements in any Complexity room. Some of our rooms have low-level lighting or darkened areas, but there are no zombies, creatures that will jump out, paranormal activity, or gruesome/doomsday scenarios. There is an excitement of racing to beat the clock, but nothing in the room is frightening.

Yes, you can keep your personal belongings with you, and we have a place for you to put them in each room. We recommend your phone stay on vibrate so you can immerse yourself in the full experience of the room! As part of our Rules, you cannot take photographs or videotape any part of our rooms.

You should bring your excitement, energy, and problem-solving skills. We will supply the rest.

No. Bring as many of your friends as you’d like (especially the smart ones), but we do not require you to share the room with strangers. Up to 8 people can be in our rooms at one time, and your group will have the puzzle room all to yourselves.

The puzzles are meant to be challenging, but being stuck is no fun! Your Gamemaster will be watching your progress in the room. He/she will give you hints along the way—if you need them—to help you.

Of course! Just call or send us a note. We’d love to help you plan a birthday party, corporate function, or group activity for family and friends! For groups larger than 8, you will be put onto teams. Teams can compete against each other for time.

Are you a franchise? Complexity is independently owned and operated and is not associated with any other puzzle room or escape room facility. If you are interested in a Complexity franchise, let’s talk!

While in the room, communicate with your team, share and talk through the puzzles together, search through everything in the room, and keep track of everything you find—you may need them for a later puzzle in the room.
